Canada Tourist Visa
The Canada Tourist Visa, also known as the Visitor Visa or Temporary Resident Visa (TRV), allows foreign nationals to visit Canada for tourism, family visits, or business meetings. Here’s a breakdown of the process and requirements:
Types of Canada Tourist Visas
- Single-Entry Visa: Allows entry to Canada once. After you leave, you will need a new visa to return, except when traveling to the U.S. or St. Pierre and Miquelon.
- Multiple-Entry Visa: Allows visitors to enter and exit Canada multiple times for up to 10 years or until the passport expires. Each visit can last up to 6 months.

Eligibility Requirements
- Valid Passport: Must have a passport valid for the duration of your stay.
- Proof of Sufficient Funds: Bank statements or financial documents to prove you can cover travel and living costs in Canada.
- Intent to Return Home: Evidence that you will return to your home country after the visit, such as job commitments, family, or property.
- Good Health: In some cases, a medical exam may be required.
- No Criminal Record: You may be asked to provide a police clearance certificate.
Documents Required
- Completed Visa Application Form: Filled out either online or via a paper application (IMM 5257).
- Photographs: Passport-size photos meeting Canada’s specifications.
- Travel History: Copies of visas from other countries you have visited.
- Invitation Letter: If you're visiting family or friends, an invitation letter may be necessary.
- Travel Itinerary: Proof of round-trip flights, hotel bookings, or a travel plan.

Application Process
- Online or Paper Application: The application can be submitted online or at a visa application center (VAC) in your country.
- Biometrics: Applicants between 14 and 79 years old are usually required to provide fingerprints and a photo.
- Processing Time: Processing time can vary based on your country of residence but generally takes around 15 to 30 days.
Visa Validity
- The visa can be granted for up to 10 years or until your passport expires, whichever comes first. Each entry allows for a stay of up to 6 months, and you must exit Canada before the visa expires.

Visa Fee
- Application Fee: CAD 100 for the tourist visa, and an additional CAD 85 for biometrics.
Visa Exemptions
- Certain countries are visa-exempt, meaning their nationals only need an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) to fly to Canada (e.g., the UK, Australia, many European countries).
